I bought my first Kindle almost a month ago, and decided to choose a case for it immediately because I'm somewhat clumsy but very particular about my gadgets. I looked at the Amazon case first, but remembered that many people reported problems with cracked screens because of the way the Amazon case hooks into the Kindle. I read the reviews, and decided against buying that case. After a thorough search, I decided on the Tuff Luv case because it seemed to offer the best balance between usability, protection, and good looks. I chose the Saddle Leather case because I prefer a suede-like feel to that of a smooth leather surface.

My Kindle arrived more than a week before the Tuff Luv case, and I knew immediately that a case was a necessity because Kindle is very thin, somewhat slippery, and would be easy for me to drop. Although Kindle is seems well built for it's purpose, I don't think it would survive many drops to the floor.

The quality of my Tuff Luv Saddle Leather case was apparent from the moment I took it out of the package. This case is beautiful, very well constructed, and offers exceptional protection. Everything lines up perfectly with the controls and jacks of my Kindle, and my Kindle is held firmly and gently in place inside the case. Kindle slides easily into the case, but is held securely in place. It will not slide out if I open the cover, turn the case upside down, and shake it. In its Tuff Luv Saddle Leather case, my Kindle is two to three times thicker, and much easier to hold and use. The case is nicely padded, and feels great in my hands as I read. Finally, the kickstand is well designed, and works well when I feel like reading without holding my Kindle. The snaps line up with each other perfectly, and aren't hard to open or close.

This case is great, and I wouldn't use my Kindle without it.

I researched all the user reviews for many different covers for my Kindle 2 looking for the best for my needs. This cover had to be durable above all else, as I was very worried about screen breakage on my up-coming cross country, many-cities trip. The most durable cover would be too heavy and the whole point of getting a Kindle for this inveterate reader, was to minimize the weight I had to lug around. So I was looking for the lightest, most durable cover available in my price range.

I loved the look and aesthetic of leather covers, but even they were too heavy. The one that seemed most durable, with hard plastic cover, also was too heavy. The lightest weight cover seemed to be the leather model that you slip the Kindle right into, the drawback was it was open-ended on the one side where the Kindle was inserted. I could see the on/off switch inadvertently turning on as I rummaged in my carry-on. I immediately dismissed the covers that had a snap closure as I felt the Kindle could still slip out too easily. I needed a cover that closed with a zipper, was lightweight and durable.

I decided on the Hard Cube Executive Case for Kindle 6 because of the other positive user reviews and it zipped. Although it is not as hard surfaced as I would have liked, it performed admirably on my recent trip, providing me all the pleasures of reading many books while giving my shoulder and arm a well-deserved break from carrying all the books. The screen survived beautifully, although as an extra precaution, I did cut a a piece of sturdy cardboard to slip in the left-side mesh inner pocket to give extra protection to the screen. I've had this product for just about a month now and there is no smell, the glitter doesn't come off, the magnetic closing works just fine, all of the buttons and ports are open with easy access and the kindle fits perfectly into the case. I guess my only complaint is when I have the kindle read to me while I'm driving I wish I could close the case, but I can't with the headphones attached. I'm really glad I bought this product to protect my kindle. I'll update if I ever drop it and let everyone know how it holds up.
