I don't get why there are separate reviews for different colors of the SAME cover??? But I digress...

After spending hours reviewing a seemingly endless number of cases for my wife's Kindle I finally discovered the Tuff-Luv. I ordered it online [*cough* direct *cough*] and got it within a week.

Pros
1. No Hinges - Let's be honest, the hinge ports on the Kindle are a bad design. Having to train people how NOT TO open the case is just stupid. I didn't want to worry about leaving the Kindle out and having an "untrained" family member or friend accidently crack the case by opening it the "wrong" way. The Tuff-Luv does not use the hinges like the Amazon, M-Edge, and others.

2. Security - It's secured on three full sides, not just the corners like other covers, and the cutouts are excellent. For example, with the Cohn cover you have to move the elastic holder in the corner to access the on/off switch. With this cover every port, plug, and button is accessable.

3. Look & Feel - I don't understand some of the complaints about the leather. It looks and feels fine to me but I suppose that's purely subjective. Plus I was able to get a better grip on the Kindle with it in the holder (as opposed to no holder). And the cover is red-red, not orangy-red like the Amazon site pictures.

4. The stand works great and the cover latch is small and unobtrusive. If you like reading while eating you're really going to like this feature.

Cons
1. Colors - When they say "wide variety of colors" I have to laugh. M-Edge has a wide variety. Mivisu has a wide variety. I-nique/Tuff-Luv has 4 colors. I didn't want black, pink was definitely out (even though it's for my wife I might use it and I'm not THAT secure in my manhood), didn't want to pay more for a brown/suede cover, and that orangy-red...but it was better than pink.

2. While snug, the Kindle 2 will slide out if you turn the case upside down and shake it. But, since it's enclosed on 3 sides, it can only come out one way and that's not going to happen with the cover closed. Still, to me it beats 4 elastic bands holding your Kindle by the corners and nothing, in my opinion, can be completely secure without being unweildy.

3. While I got mine quickly be aware that this case ships from the U.K. (even if you buy via Amazon) so you're paying more for shipping if you have to return it and there might be delays in getting it (for those that need it NOW).

This is a great case at a competitive price. If you can handle potential delays in shipping (unless you live in the EU) I can't see how anyone would be unhappy with this cover.
