This case is for protection only. If you normally use the Kindle out of the standard cover, or with a skin, this will work for you. The case is thick enough to provide cushion and just big enough that it is easy to slide the Kindle in and out of it. I haven't tried inserting the Kindle with the standard cover into this case, but suspect it would fit, with a little wiggle to get it on. All in all, a good product to use when carrying your Kindle around.
